It’s already hard enough to keep track of all the movie releases in 2022, so what about 2023? While we have no way of knowing exactly what will be coming out then, we do know that there are already several movies scheduled for release within that year that look like they could be huge hits. Here are some of the top ones you won’t want to miss!
Movies that are already slated for release
The fifth installment of Star Wars is supposed to drop in 2017, so that’s a safe bet for 2023. Likewise, we can likely expect more entries from Marvel and DC. X-Men 7 will hit theaters in 2018; Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and Captain America 3 should be out sometime before then, while The Avengers: Age of Ultron might also make it over in time (all depending on when it releases next year). Other sequels that could release around 2023 include installments for new franchises such as Jurassic World and Fast & Furious. Other anticipated movies include Point Break 2 (don’t forget Point Break 1!), Despicable Me 4, Jurassic Park 5 and Dumb and Dumber 3. We may even see a sequel to Gravity starring George Clooney. And who knows what else? Perhaps another surprise Harry Potter movie or even another Back to the Future sequel?
Theaters you won’t want to miss: If you like going to IMAX, there are plenty of great options coming up between now and 2023. Some highlights include Spiderman Homecoming (IMAX), Dunkirk (IMAX), Wonder Woman (IMAX), Ready Player One (IMAX) and War for Planet of Apes (IMAX). There are several other IMAX movies slated for release over those years, including some documentaries about space exploration—which means if you love space movies or documentaries about space exploration you’ll want to check them out!

To be honest, there isn’t much on our radar. The only movie that looks like it will have any significant impact is Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again! which is coming out in July. From all reports, it doesn’t look like a particularly great movie, but given its built-in audience (thanks to its insanely popular predecessor), it could easily become one of 2018’s biggest blockbusters. It might be worth your time if you enjoyed 2008’s version—but if you haven’t seen that one yet, you should definitely give it a chance before checking out next year’s installment.
